About the webmaster

To tell you a little about myself, my name is Erin Bradford. I graduated from North Carolina State University May 2005 with an MA in Public History and a concentration in archival management.  I am currently in school at North Carolina Central University trying to finish my Masters for Library Science (MLS). When I finally finish school, maybe I'll actually have more time to work on all my websites!  For now, I can only squeeze it in during what little free time I have. I have been doing genealogy for 19 years now (I was 11 when I started).  I was born and raised in Montana, but I've been living in Raleigh, NC since June 1998.  I am the first of my direct Bradford line to be born out of North Carolina since about 1770.  From about 1770, starting with David Bradford, and his wife Mary, to about 1930, my line of the Bradford family lived in Cabarrus (Poplar Tent) and Mecklenburg (Charlotte/Cornelius) Counties.  After the 1930's, they moved to Mount Airy aka Mayberry, in Surry County and were there until my dad moved to IL in 1970 to be with my mom. Shortly after they married, they moved to Montana and have stayed there ever since.

About this site

I am the county coordinator for 8 NC counties with ALHN, and I am wanting to add more.  Because of this, I decided to go with my own domain since I have information for a lot of couties that I do not maintain right now. Only some counties are technically affiliated with the ALHN project, located at http://www.alhn.org.  The counties that are technically ALHN counties of mine are:  Ashe, Cabarrus, Johnston, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Wake, Warren, and Wilkes.  If I am the county coordinator for a county, the link provided will have the ALHN logo at the top of the page, if I am not the county coordinator, there will be no logo, but I will provide a link to the official page if it exists.  The table below lists the counties on this page.  If there is an * after a county, this is the official ALHN county page.  Counties listed, but with no link means I have information, just have not been able to get them online yet!
