Below is a list of schools, Universities, and colleges in North Carolina - (HBCU)
after a school name means that it is a part of the Historically Black Colleges and
Universities. If you had ancestors that attended one of these schools, it would
be a good idea to contact the special collections/university archives, usually a
department within the university library, as many universities have an alumni association
that keep surprisingly accurate records of the major activities and whereabouts of their
alumni. I doubt this is a complete list, so please email
me to add a school to the list!
